Twitter- What it all about Alfie?   January 4th, 2009

Hey as a good Internet Marketer soldier I have joined Twitter because I was told to.  My twitter name is: robmbrooks.  OK,  Can someone please explain to me what it’s all about?

For one I have all these new followers.  Though I don’t feel to loved as they all seem like they just want to sell me big time.  All the chat on big name blogs I read seem to be very inside chatter about how they’re all going to kick internet marketing butt in 2009.

So how to you use it?  Can anyone please give me some direction?  My time to pursue an on-line biz after long hours in my job as a projectionist in a movie theater is precious.   So I’m wondering how to use twitter and if it should be as top a priority as my other two priorities which are making videos and blogging.  Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob

Would you be able to send me the PDF’s on Twitter. I haven’t signed up yet and am wondering if its worth my time added to everything else. Thanks.

Hello Rob
I agree.
I’ve signed up to Twitter but I find lots of my followers are ‘just off to bed’, or ‘just making a sandwich’.
Anyway I installed TweetmyBog into my blog and that sends each of my blog posts over to Twitter so it looks as though I’m busy there.

Whenever I go to Twitter it takes me 5 minutes to work out how to send a post to anyone. Very confusing.

I’ve joined Technorati too. haven’t a clue what it does but, again, I’ve got a plugin so I just let it do it’s thing.

Gord help us when we have to join facebook, squidoo, diggit and the rest. We’ll be going crazy.

But your post has given me an idea. I’ve got loads of ebooks and probably videos on all these sites and I’ll make a page for them to be downloaed free from my blog in about a week.

Best Wishes
Joe

Hi Joe.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Well I’m glad I was able to give you a good idea. Having a free download place of good content on your blog seems like a great way to get visits and be helpful. Yeah, between getting my act together to make more videos and even implement all we’re learning from Alex pushes Twitter back a bit, but only for right now. I remember Alex saying to do one thing at a time. Twitter should be a fast thing for us to do when we know it better.

Rob, believe it or not, you bring up an interesting topic. OK not the fact you’re talking about Twitter, but more the questions you asked! – For me, it’s a great way to network with others, were you might not be able to elsewhere!

While all my Tweets, aren’t marketing related, I’ll post a link to a new post I’ve made. And say I’m watching an interesting video on YouTube, or reading an interesting article, then I will most like say that on Twitter too!

For anyone who still want’s to find out more, then search Google for ‘twitter reports’ of ‘twitter guides’ as you’ll find things created by others. So if you aren’t on Twitter yet, get yourself started now! :D

Thanks
Mark

Hey Rob,
Twitter is kind of new ground for many people. It will never replace the power of a blog, shoot you only get 140 characters to say your piece (yes I mean piece not peace..grin).

Anyhow not too much of an ad, I am posting some info I gathered regarding Twitter.

Hello Fellow NY’er,
Dirk here in LI NY, I was just at Alex’s blog, stopped in at Dr Lenny’s blog saw you posted there as well. I saw your snow video too, good job.
I was undecided which post I should jump into and decided on this one because I found an ebook on twitter, which I found helpful.
I will post it on my downloads page if anyone wants to grab a copy. Check up on it tomorrow. You’ve done a great job with your blog.
Question? What size GB hard drive on your PC or Lap Top are you rendering your videos? I’m utilizing an older machine (Lap Top) w/ a 120GB Drive.
Let me know.
Thx for reading, to your success,
Dirk Blanke

Thx for your post and blog rolling me. I greatly appreciate it.
I asked you about your hard drives due to what you and others are finding as a happy medium for rendering video’s. I wish you well with your ebook, I’m sure you will do well. What approach will you be taking with it? I look forward to seeing it.
I’m in Selden about 30 min away from that township where your Brother-In-Law lives, if I fly low, probably only 15 min away. ;-)
Talk with ya soon.

To your success,
Dirk
