Alex Jeffreys & Coaching Students in Las Vegas 2.0   February 1st, 2010

Alex Jeffreys Coaching Students 2.0 Meeting in Las Vegas was the real deal. It was held on Jan 25 + 26, 2010 in the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.   The dominant theme was List Building.  It had an agenda that was packed full of real life usable information.

Alex spoke a few times.  Also there were a number of excellent guest speakers.

Stephanie Mulac spoke both the days.  On the Monday she spoke about “Monetizing Blogging.”  She gave the magic SEO formula.  Here it is: Domain+Category+Post Title = SEO MAGIC.

On the Tuesday Stephanie spoke on “Building a rapport with your list”.  Some of the key points made were: Your list is made of real people, not faceless numbers.  People crave awareness.  It’s all about their needs, not your own ego.  Your expertise and knowledge is not as common as you may think.  Figure the acquisition costs of gaining people on your list.  See the value of your hard earned efforts building a list.  So give them personal attention, but set limits and balance.  One way to do this is to accept questions on your blog rather than personal e-mails.

Alex spoke on so many subjects and so well I couldn’t possibly go into them all here.  The Alex 2.0 workshop in Vegas is going to be released soon as a product.  Get it, you won’t regret it.

Here are a few Alex tidbits: Be Remarkable- Go against logic- Don’t just want to make money.- Invision everything- See the outcome- Then break down all the pieces to put the outcome together.

THE WHOLE PICTURE- Research- (ask people what they want)- Create an offer- Automate the process- Drive traffic- List building- e-mail marketing- Grow numbers- Work on the business, not in it- Create more offers.

Jit Uppal one of Alex’s 1.0 coaching students spoke on how in a year he has built a list of 34,000, quit his job and is making a great full-time living from list building thru giveaways and ad swaps.

Jit said “Focus on the why you want success and you will figure out the how.” Jit explained to be successful- Get a mentor- attend live events- have the mindset of not willing to fail- learn from what’s not working- determine what you are willing to do in order to achieve the success you desire- decide if this is a hobby or a business.  A couple of encouraging quotes were given such as “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going.”

Next guest speaker were two of Alex’s 1.0 coaching students Dean Holland and Adam Spiel.  These 2 guys teamed up just a half year ago.  They have created the “Turbo Traffic System” monthly membership site.  In just a few months it is bringing them $20,000 per month.  They are on there way to a $100,000+ income just from this one site.

Dean & Adam explained that setting up a membership site is not complicated.  Here is the formula they use for getting members- Free optional offer- wordpress website- have content + training for just the first month ready (then the following months can be done as you progress)- set up your auto-responder- create a billing platform such as 1 shopping cart- install membership software- use ad swaps to drive traffic.   NOTE- an Ad Swap is when you send someone else’s offer to your list in exchange for them sending your offer to their list.

If you were in any of Alex’s coaching programs you’ll remember a crazy word he made up: KOTOBOT- It stands for “Keep on top of being on top”.  So you may have heard of the 80/20 formula.  So in internet marketing focus on the 20% of activities that will give you 80% of your best results.

I also met and made friends with a wonderful person named Daylynne Starr there.  We’ve agreed to be accountability partners.  Daylynne builds her list thru JV giveaways.  Lucky me as this is just what I want to learn and participate in right now.

Dan Briffa is another friend I met there.  I first met Dan at the Alex 1.0 coaching meeting in Vegas last May.  Dan and I are both e-bay powersellers so we have that in common.  Dan is launching his second e-bay coaching program soon.  So get my free top 10 video marketing tips in the upper right hand corner and I will notify you when Dan’s new e-bay course is ready.  It’s going to launch many successful Internet Marketers.

When I promoted Alex 2.0 coaching last June one of the people who joined thru my affiliate link was Guy Hague.  Guy stayed in touch and let me know of his ambitions and progress.  So when I found he was going to Vegas I asked him to room with me.  We had a good time hanging out and sharing meals there.  Guy also interviewed me.  I made that into 3 parts for 3 videos .  All 3 are at the bottom of this post.

Alex teaches us you build a system, then you build content to go into it.  Most people are getting drawn into buying products from e-mails they get.  The hope is of course that this time the system will work, be easy to implement and make big money.

But did you ever stop and think.  The person who sent you that e-mail has a system, a sales funnel in place. Even for a good product you are really just paying for a small piece of that sales funnel.  That’s why our internet marketing results are often struggling.

If you were in Alex’s coaching you’ll remember the first module was all about writing down where we are going a year from now.  Then doing our planning from the future to the present.  It’s so hard emotionally as we just want to get out of the gate and start running.  But then we find we’re running in circles and just getting frustrated.

So decide who you are on-line.  What you do.  Then visualize the outcome or goal.  Then create the path to get there.  And remember goals are not just money goals.  It’s what money buys that’s most important.  Do you want a lifestyle that travels?  Then write down where your going and when.  Now that’s a goal to get excited and motivated to achieve.

Here’s some more pictures from Vegas.

Hi Rob,

Your pictures look good and the videos are visually good too.

The sound though could use higher volume as I can barely hear it on a lap top without headphones. ( I’m referring to the interview itself, the intro music is loud enough ).

I’ll check it later on my regular computer.

Would you mind sharing which camera you used and if you used a tripod for it?

Hi Vance,
Your right the sound doesn’t come through lap top speakers loud enough. That happens with “The Flip” internal mic. The tripod was the camcorder leaning against a book with my wallet wedged in for balance. LOL

Hey Rob,

It’s good to read about the Vegas trip. Seems like it was a very worthwhile event to attend.

I only just joined up with MWA coaching 4 weeks back so this one passed me by. Attending one of these offline events is now part of my 12 month plan.

I particularly enjoyed the interview (which i guess underlines your point about the importance of it in the IM niche). Producing my first video is definately one of my many ‘A’ tasks for the coming month.

That one’s gonna take me right out of my comfort zone i think! :-)

Anyway, good luck and come over & say hello when you get some time.

Onwards & Upwards

Hi Rob
This looks like a very special event.

As you see my name is Sue McDonald and I live in Australia. I am at present doing the Newbie course with Mark Terrell who originally did the course with Alex a few years ago.

It’s interesting learning and like everyone that starts these types of courses we all want to make money and have more time to ourselves. I hope you are making a great living and if you have time over the next few weeks and you could take a look at my blog and leave a comment, I would certainly appreciate.

Kindest regards

Sue

Hi Sue,
Glad you stopped by my blog and said hello. There are many ways to go on-line. I think the important thing as you learn is to find what’s right for you.

Best Wishes as you find your way on-line.

Nice site and I will be coming back so keep up the good work! When it comes down to it I think Alec Baldwin said it best in the Glenn-Garry movie. A.I.D.A attention, interest, decision and action. I’ll spare you guys the full speech where he cusses everyone out.
