Speaking about full-time internet marketing May 15th, 2010
Just 2 weeks ago when I went full-time. I went to a beautiful Botanical Gardens and made this video. I share my feelings of finally being “free” to pursue the dream of taking control of my own life.
Also I got plenty of good stuff for you on the right attitudes for having a successful internet business. So since I said it all in the video, I’ll let you see for yourself what a brand new baby cut from the cloth full-time internet marketer has to say.

Outsourcing e-bay for on-line growth. November 21st, 2009
I’ve been hearing about the importance of outsourcing in internet marketing since I started 2 years ago. I guess I thought like most people do that it is for the people who are really making some good money and just can’t handle all the work themselves.
Well now that I’ve started outsourcing I see things different. It’s the outsourcing that allows you to grow your business to make the really good money. If you develop an area like e-bay that you have some success with on-line, but don’t outsource anything. You are really working a job, not managing a business of unlimited potential.
I learned that years ago when I had my own carpet & upholstery cleaning business. Sure it was my own business, but I was working so hard myself there was no time to make more than a decent salary.
So now my e-bay business is say 80% outsourced. What’s great is this frees up time to expand my e-bay business and also get busy on-line doing things like list building which is what grows an internet marketing business like nothing else.
Success breeds more success. When people see you’re having some success they’re going to pay attention to you and your offers. I can see how this is really fun. But it’s when your not wearing all the hats in your business, then your freeing up time to discover possibilities and be creative to develop your own unique internet marketing business.
A number of people have asked me what is the easiest way to find success on e-bay. My number one recommendation is arbitrage as taught by Diana: Check out the incredible successful buying and re-selling method she has developed here: http://tinyurl.com/ya9tzpg

Julie & Julia an inspiration on the power of blogging August 18th, 2009
Recently I saw the movie Julie & Julia. I enjoyed it a lot. Meryl Streep deserves her 16th academy award nomination for her portrayal of Julia Child. Bon Appetite- Yes I loved seeing all the great food scenes.
But today I’m writing about a different aspect of this film. The power of blogging. Amy Adams plays Julie Powell in the film. Julie is frustrated as a cubicle bureaucratic worker dealing with the problems of 9/11 back in 2002. Her friends are all fast track executive climbing women on the go.
So Julie realizes what will make her happy is making every recipe from Julia Child’s best selling book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”. Julie goes to work for 365 days making 524 recipes in a tiny apartment over a pizza shop in Queens, New York.
When Julie tells her husband her friends are making it big with blogging. Her husband says you can blog too. So Julie says “I can write a blog, I have thoughts”
Well as they say, the rest is history. The blog was a smashing success. So was Julie Powell’s 2005 book on that year of cooking in 2003 and blogging about it everyday. And of course it is now a major motion picture.
I hate pushy sales blogs. You know the ones where the first thing you see is a big credit card. Nothing wrong with selling from your blog. But I think it’s best to do on the sides, not in people’s faces.
So lets have some fun with blogging. Lets just be real. What an awesome chance to just express ourselves and share with others what we know and what can help them.
Leave me a comment, Let me know if you’d like to be on my blog roll. I’d appreciate being on yours too. And if your not on my video marketing newsletter yet, sign up on this blog. I’ll share with you some great tips on video marketing.
Blessings, Rob
Wow! What a ride it’s gonna be. August 17th, 2009
The ride I’m talking about is the future for all of us who are doing Internet Marketing. Well as usual there’s so much I want to do. And as usual too many thoughts stop me from doing very much.
I am so ready to make some serious decisions about my job as a projectionist. I mean I work 18 hour days. So that lack of sleep makes putting in a full days work in Internet Marketing on my days off a sleepless struggle.
But this post is not about excuses. As Alex Jefffery’s says there are only two outcomes: Results & Excuses.
So I’m gonna do it. And you’re apart of it. We are a powerful community. When we help each other we help ourselves succeed. That’s the beauty of the IM community. People from all different backgrounds, but the same entrepreneurial spirit.
So I’m gonna redo my “to do” list once again. And make things happen by taking action. I’m glad your along for the journey. This is not just about making money, but taking action confronts our own restraints and moves us forward to our own personal transformation.
Blessings,
Rob
How to run a logo contest on 99 designs August 2nd, 2009
Hey Guys,
I just had this logo made on http://99designs.com/ This is not an affiliate link.
It was a really cool process because you start a contest. You can pick the contest to run different lengths. You tell the artists what your looking for, how much you want to spend and than wallah!
The competition begins. Entries from all over the world come in so you have many, many choices to pick from. As the contest proceeds you give the artists you like feedback so they can make changes.
I offered the minimum cash prize you can start a contest at which is $195. Though it’s about $275 when they get finished with fees, since the $195 goes to the artist.
So I’m a happy camper, I like this design and now I can use it everywhere including squeeze pages, Aweber, and blog posts.
Best,
Rob
Full time internet marketing business just around the corner? July 20th, 2009
My 2 week vacation starts on Thursday. The biggest constraint with moving forward with my Internet Marketing Business has been time. My job as a motion picture projectionist just takes up too much time, 60-70 hour work weeks plus traveling are normal for me.
My wife is going to Kenya on Thursday for a mission trip with 10 others from our church. So wow. I have a snapshot opportunity to see if I really put full time into my Internet Marketing business will I be satisfied with the progress.
I can really feel I have learn’t enough to go full time. But lets face it, the money has to be steady and at least be close to a sure thing to go full time.
I want to and I will go full-time soon. These 2 weeks will be a tremendous opportunity to see if I can put those wheels in action. I’m wondering if you have thought of going full time and how you will make it happen?

Alex Jeffreys Coaching 2.0 Why am I here? July 6th, 2009
Wow is this weird. Tonight I start Alex Jeffrey’s coaching program. Dejavu. I took Alex’s coaching last winter so how did I end up here.
Alex has given a FREE admission to his students that were in Las Vegas with him last month. That’s a saving of $1,000. But still so why am I here; is it because I want to be, will I do the work or just do I just like a bargain.
I have a lot on my plate. Well good problems compared to when I started Alex’s first coaching last winter. I mean I have a very responsive list growing everyday. Last winter I couldn’t even imagine it. Rolling through my mind are decisions about doing webinars, coaching, more videos. I mean yelps, my coaching from Jim Cockrum, Alex Jeffreys and Maria Andros have really been the right decisions.
I have received what i have put into them. And I have not advanced at all in the areas I learn’t from them that I haven’t worked at.
So why am I hanging in with Alex 2.0 when with very limited time I want to do so much. I didn’t even mention my huge affiliate marketing plans and mindset training and and and.
Well I had a front and center seat to see Alex the man with $293,000 in his paypal account up front in Vegas. Got to talk alone with him and just hang as friends.
I missed too much the first time in the coaching. Partly I was lazy. Sure my business took off right after the coaching. Because I did apply some things. And yes it works big time. But I was lazy at the first and most important module forward to basics- the business planning module. Didn’t even touch the blog traffic modules so my blog didn’t get much traffic. (fortunately my videos did)
I’m at a place where good things are happening. Now I’m seeing if I really do what Alex tells me, with my experience and taste of success I have now. My on-line business growth will be huge dude. This coaching is certainly worth 2 good months of serious effort. That’s why I’m here. I am meant to be here right now. I am excited. I am looking forward to meet many new students. I hope to be of help to you if you are in Alex 2.0 and if your not.
It’s a new day. Great things are about to happen. Alex is a great leader. Lets learn and become great leaders ourselves.
Best,
Rob
Maria Andros SMTB coaching is over. What it did, what I’m doing June 21st, 2009
I just finished Maria Andros coaching program titled “The Social Media Traffic Blueprint”. So instead of using the usual words of great, awesome that don’t tell you anything real. This is what it did for me.
It gave me knowledge I really don’t think I would find or find in one place together elsewhere. Knowledge about ways to really enhance myself in Social Media. Actually when I heard Maria say the blueprint is a 2 year plan to implement. I stopped feeling guilty about not getting too much done. You see the course was like a rich chocolate cake. Filled with intense deep teachings and it all can’t be implemented that fast. But it’s all very powerful. If you’ve followed her at all you’d see she knows whats she’s doing.
The most important part for my own direction and growth was my half hour one on one time with Maria a few days ago. (this was part of the course) She peered deep into my spirit and let me know what I could change in my mindset. What is the most important direction to go in my business. And what exactly I can do to make both of these happen. Just what I needed as I was feeling lost on my own Internet Marketing direction. Also certain thought patterns were holding me back. Now that was an eye opening half hour.
You know my youtube channel has gone from 3 subscribers to 53 in the last 2 months just by following some simple advise by Maria. This increase in views and a following is a great boost to me because I know I want to specialize in this niche.
My you tube channel is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/MarketingWithRob
So now I’m taking Harlan Kilstein’s class. Harlan is a top copywriter that has worked for the likes of people like Frank Kern. This class is a lot more than copywriting. It’s a program to change your mindset and a step by step instruction to not just find a niche but build a 7 figure business. I’m 2 weeks in and I’m real happy with it.
So my wife Laurel wanted to know why I keep going from coaching program to coaching program. My answer is I need to learn and I feel really good about the choices of mentors I picked. I mean Jim Cockrum, Alex Jeffreys, Maria Andros and Harlan Kilstein. There all enormously successful and great teachers that don’t hold anything back. If I wasn’t making progress then you’d have to say it was a mistake as they all cost money. But I am moving forward and I feel so great and empowered because I really have the knowledge and tools to soon go full time in this. How about full time in early 2010. Do you think I can do it? Well I do.
My organizing my business is now done on a white board. I needed the simplicity to organize my thoughts, planning and work. So the white board has worked better for me than other methods I tried.
What do you think? Where are you at on this journey? Rob
Wow! What a blast we had in Las Vegas. Alex Jeffreys gave his coaching students his all.
It was the real behind the scenes stuff that is almost impossible to find taught elsewhere. He shared from his experience explaining just what he does to become so successful in Internet Marketing. He explained don’t just read his content, watch his systems of how he markets. And I have most of it on video. I’ll be sharing with everyone some of these life changing teachings in the near future.
Thank you Alex. You shared from your heart because you care. There wasn’t one upsell or asking anything from us. Plus Alex didn’t even charge for the 2 day meeting that was exclusively for his coaching students from last winter.
But that wasn’t all. There was so much fun to be had. Lots of laughs and wonderful support among everyone. Whether it was personal issues or internet marketing issues. People became great friends instantly. I must have about 12 videos to put on-line for everyone to see. I did 6 interviews including one with Alex. In the next few days I’ll get my interviews up with: Garry Parkes, Gary Simpson, Leslie Morgan, Dean Holland and Sandra Rodriques.
So now here are my first two video from Vegas: My interview with Alex and a montage I made up of the entire weekend. So enjoy, I think you’ll get a taste of how fantastic it all was. Oh and if that wasn’t enough I made about ten JV deals. Networking is another cool thing about these events.
In Joy,
Rob
Rob Brooks Interviews Alex Jeffreys
Making personal videos. Why it’s good. May 17th, 2009
Lately I have been making a different kind of video besides continuing to make video infomercials. I’m talking about making videos about myself. You can do this also. Video is a great way to let others know about yourself.
It’s fun, but yes can be scary. We all want to present ourselves well. People will respect honesty. This kind of video will help you to become more articulate which is good for most of us. Because of your honesty people will trust you and this will help in your business.
So think before you make one of these videos about what you want to communicate. You will be sharing some of the real you. You actually will be starting to develop your own brand. Attraction Marketing includes people being attracted to what Frank Kern calls your “Core Values”.
In today’s age of Social Media people want to connect with a real person, not just a company. So I’m going to give you the secret to making a successful video.
People watch videos to see whats in them for themselves. Now here is the secret- are you ready? Give away your best and most helpful information that the viewer can really use. Put the viewer first because to them your video is really about them, not you. This is how you will start gaining a following.
Ask them through text or verbally to rate your video, comment and subscribe to your youtube channel.
Do not talk to the masses. Talk to the camera as if it is your best friend talking with you in your living room.
Here is my very personal video on transformation. What did you think? Please leave a comment by the video and right here on the blog. Oh and if you haven’t subscribed to my video channel yet. Please do and I will do the same as I would like to see your videos too.

Until next time, Rob
